You know, I have no problem with Republicans. On some issues, I'm right on the fence between parties. But I have to say, some of the statements made by McCain/anyone-but-Obama supporters make my jaw drop. I've made a collection of some of the comments that I found most interesting (aka retarded) - I gathered these up from message boards from various newspaper sites. The ignorance of some people just astounds me. (disclaimed: by no means do I mean ALL Republicans are like this, these are just extremes) These are not edited. I left in spelling and grammar mistakes.
Yesterday, the people of this country turned their back on God. Do not be surprised when he does the same to us.
The votes must be recounted in Indiana. We cannot let history record that Indiana supported Obama, or any other Democrat for president. It is not RIGHT!
NO, NO, NO! Indiana is RED State. Something went wrong. I am sure that once an investigation has been launched they will find that it was some kind of illegal liberal plot that stole this election from Indiana.
.... sorry, catching my breath from laughing so hard ....
Congratulations to Mr. Obama, president of the Soviet States of America.
It was Liberty Vs. Communism and Communism won.
Obana will try to completely disarm american citizens, to allow crime to run rampant. What a dirt bag!
Well, now we know that next year its no longer the White house, its the Black house
WTF.!?!? Is anyone else stunned at what people write?
Now that we have a Muslim president, we will be persecuted for our Christian faith.
... I think that's enough.
"In a battle between a president's demons and his better angels, for the first time in a long while, I think we might just have ourselves a fair fight." -- Toby Zeigler
ReplyDeleteThe Lexington paper did a poll to find out if Obama's race will affect whether or not people vote for him. Something like 14% of the respondents thought that he was Muslim. Yay, Kentucky.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there's that whole group of people who don't like him because they believed that e-mail forward that said he doesn't put his hand over his heart for the pledge of allegiance (and apparently have never heard of snopes), or because they don't like the fact that sometimes he doesn't wear a lapel pin. Or because they don't understand economics and think taxing and spending, which we always do, is the same as socialism.
Or they're like the guy in a columnist's story who went to church and was told Obama was the antichrist. And believed it.
I understand people have differing political views, but it does make me really angry that the majority of people who are vocally against Obama have completely BS reasons that could be refuted with just the tiniest bit of research. On the other hand, I figure it's not a big deal since most people who make decisions based on these things are not the kind of people who vote for progressive candidates anyway.
Heh, this is usaincognito. I shut down my old site and have a new site up now:

It will definitely be an interesting next 4 years. I am just sitting back and watching to see how things will go. No one really knows how he will be until we see him in action making decisions.
