Phurlough

There will be little to no internet access for me starting at 5 p.m. today. I go on another furlough (or phurlough as I'm calling it) ... it's a week off work (woot!), but no pay (boo). I won't be doing much of anything but riding ... except at the end of the week I'll be going here:

(Deer Creek Music Center/Verizon Wireless) ... this is also where I graduated high school. nice.
That's Friday ... Saturday and Sunday's destination:

(Alpine Valley Music Center - Wisconsin)

Should be a nice escape from reality. At least I hope so.

Fashion police strike again

Lets all have a little talk about how to clip your horse/pony. Body clipping is fine (just make sure the horse has proper clothes if it is cold outside) ... even trace clips are fine and there are a wide variety.

But what the hell was this podunk lady thinking? What purpose does this clip job serve other than to prove you obviously 1) Have too much time on your hands and 2) lack any class whatsoever.

via Phish

If time were only part of the equation
Then you could draw the boundries of our cage
You wouldnt pile another stone upon me
And Id be happy just to watch you age

But everything is in its own dominion
And waiting in the shallows as I do
Appeases me as water slowly trickles out
Which isnt nearly fast enough for you

It isnt nearly fast enough for you
It isnt nearly fast enough for you
Its what I was afraid of
I stumble into view
But it isnt nearly fast enough for you
It isnt nearly fast enough for you

T-Bone goodness

The cliché eyeball shot.

And for good measure, the cliché self-shot cheesy grin photo:

Here come the fashion police

Ok, I'm going to be a snob for a minute here. But I am so tired of watching Morgan/Saddlebred continue hideous trends at breed shows - trends that have LONG been out of style in the open hunter/jumper world since, I dunno, the 80s.

My first example is rust breeches. While they are fine to school in, they look awful in the show ring - especially when paired with a green jacket. I'm sorry, are you showing a horse or going to a Christmas party? With the exception of George Morris, please PLEASE stop showing in rust breeches. Seriously!!

(Hair should also only be in a bun when wearing a top hat or derby, otherwise it should be covering the ears and tucked up in your hat appropriately. I'm not sure why people at breed shows have not caught on to this?)

Ouch

Man, when someone tells you that are not in love with you ... or ever will be, it stings. Especially when you love(d) them. I'm getting pretty tired of this same routine.
